Times Higher Education -'Unprecedented' fall in entry rate for disadvantaged students


It is sad news this year for disadvantaged students, as the entry rate has fallen from 24.7 per cent last year to 23.1 per cent in 2023, which modelling has shown was the largest drop on record. This is such a step backwards and I am sure it is in part due the cost of living crises, but also in results as the these have fallen so much this year as well. This should prompt investigations into how students can be given further support, and how the financial support is clearly not as full as it needs to be. You can read the full article here.
