ProtectED cited in Student Minds' new report on university accommodation & mental health

The student mental health charity Student Minds recently published their Student Living: Collaborating to Support Mental Health in University Accommodation report on university accommodation and mental health. The 'Student Living' report shares the learning from a partnership project with the UPP Foundation and Nottingham Trent University, and makes a number of recommendations to the student accommodation and university sectors. Case studies are provided throughout the report, celebrating the good work currently being undertaken at some UK universities to enhance student wellbeing and mental health within student accommodation, and this also includes an endorsement of the ProtectED Code of Practice (p.14). Just as ProtectED requires member universities to adopt a joined-up, collaborative approach between its student support services, the Student Minds report stresses the need for accommodation staff to be sufficiently trained, supported and integrated into the system of support offered to students.
