Book now for British Council workshops on supporting international students

The British Council are hosting a series of workshops on supporting international students. Invited speakers will share their good practice with you, addressing issues such as ensuring student immigration compliance, and safety, security and wellbeing across the student experience.

British Council International Education Services will offer the ‘Up close and personal’ workshops in Manchester, Edinburgh and London throughout October and November 2018.

Sessions will draw upon the belief that institutions have a wider role to play in supporting their international students – not only while students are on university premises, but throughout the entire study experience.

Using the ProtectED Code of Practice as a guide, the day will focus on five key issues which follow the trajectory of the international student journey: from selecting a UK institution, through to student experiences whilst studying at their chosen institution, including pre-arrival to the UK, arrival, international student orientation, awareness of fraudulent scams and visa compliance issues affecting study.

All workshops will run 10.30 - 16.00 hrs and are being held in British Council offices on the following dates:

24 October 2018 – Edinburgh

29 October 2018 – Manchester

2 November 2018 – London

The workshops are suitable for all education providers involved in supporting international student welfare including Welfare Officers, Immigration compliance staff, Admissions teams, and International Student Support Officers. The cost is £125 + VAT (including lunch), and places will be allocated on a first-come-first serve basis as availability is limited due to the ‘Up close and personal’ format.
