Academics in relationships with students ‘abuse’ their power says campus harassment campaigner
The Independent has called for - Universities to ban relationships between academics and students because such liaisons amount to an “abuse” of power, according to one of Britain’s leading experts on campus sexual harassment.
We are happy that University College London (UCL) who are one of our Founder Member Universities, took the step to ban relationships between Lecturers and students last year. It shows that they are dedicated to creating a gold standard university experience for their students and staff.
We support the work Anna Bull and The 1752 Group do, we have worked with them, along with Georgina Calvert-Lee, McAllister Olivarius for years to bring the topic of sexual misconduct at universities to the fore. Hopefully this will finally cause actions to be taken. Read the full article here.
