WONKHE - Students deserve protection wherever they study

We have followed closely the proposals and recommendations by the Office for Students regarding the voluntary standards in their Statement of Expectations since their publication in April 2021. In this latest piece by Wonkhe, OfS CEO Susan Lapworth describes the regulator's toughened approach to harassment and sexual misconduct within universities.

It seems that universities have been slow to put in the extra measures that the OFS has recommended which is unfortunate. We have had specific criteria in our Code of Practice looking at Sexual misconduct and harassment that goes above what they are asking, since our foundation, so it is great to know that our Founder Member Universities not only will pass the criteria, but go above and beyond what is required.
