WONKHE - What’s with the influx of estranged students?

Research by the Students Loan Company has reported that the amount of Estranged Students registering with a university's risen. This is great news that more students that are estranged from their families now feel supported enough to attend.

Hopefully these figures will carry on rising, and more students and universities will take up the support given by Stand Alone. There may be a slight skew on the figures as there is now a tick box on the UCAS application for Estranged Students, so it will be interesting to see a direct comparison, in time.
